Information
LCH has a special booklet entitled "Energy 101." This interesting piece explains everything you can do to your home in order to save energy. It does not present "exotic" remedies that are hard for the typical suburban homeowner to locate, but deals with practical solutions you can manage. For example, you can compare different forms of insulation, types of application, dual pane windows, solar applications and more. The point is to give you information you can use. You must become a member in order to receive this booklet.
Contractors Going Green
LCH has a list of contractors who are in the business of residential energy improvements. Some of these contractors have taken special training with local utility companies in order to do a better job for you. Air Duct Testing & Sealing; Blow-Door testing; HVAC tuning and much more can be located through LCH. Let us know your need and we'll work with you to find someone with the solution. LCH also supports the Association of California Energy Contractors or "ACE!"
Energy Financing
The League works with Viewtech Financial, a specialized lending organization that provides administrative support for the Home Energy Upgrade Loan program (HEUF). The Gas Company as well as San Diego Gas & Electric sponsor this program. It provides unsecured loans for up to $25,000 that are especially directed to residential energy improvements. The program does not require any points, fees or pre-payment penalty. Loan rates are fixed and you never see a surprise increase. This program is financed directly through Fannie Mae.
Concrete Solutions
LCH also works with the Southern California Concrete Producers. This fine trade group has several green solution products that can help you. For example, SCCP contractors have experts for "Pervious Concrete" as well as concrete walls with specialized foam insulation for residential structures. The organization also has contractors who specialize in all concrete homes the ultimate in energy conservation as well as fire protection.
Products & Rebates
The League is always ready to help consumers locate information on utility company rebates. If you are uncertain of what types of rebates are available, or just need help in finding them give us a call. We can also help you locate various "green products" that you can use in your home.
